Albariño is a Spanish variety well suited to Maryland's climate. This 2020 vintage displays a pale yellowish green hue, with appealing aromas of tangerine, orange blossom and a bright acidity on the finish.
In 2012 we planted Albariño on a southeast facing hillside at our South Mountain Vineyard in Frederick County. The vines are thriving, producing small, compact golden clusters that ripen in mid-September. We cool ferment the wine in stainless steel tanks and bottle early to capture its freshness.
