Albariño is a Spanish
variety that we first planted in 2012 on the southeast-facing hillside at our
South Mountain Vineyard in Frederick County. The vines have adapted beautifully
to the site, producing small, compact golden clusters that ripen in
mid-September. We cool ferment the wine in stainless steel tanks and bottle
early to capture its freshness.
This vintage displays
a pale yellowish green hue, with appealing aromas of tangerine, orange blossom
and a bright acidity in the finish.
Gold Medalist at the
Maryland Governor's Cup Wine Competition.
